With this construction, the segment ring can be held together in three ways on a steel part:


• Riveted:
This connection is used for small commutators where the construction makes it impossible to use bolts or a central screw.
• With bolts:
This connection should be preferred because it assures high stability. Ventilation is sometimes provided for between the bolts.
• With central screw:
This connection is more compact and offers more room for ventilation
